Frequently asked questions

FAQ.

  • How long does a joint replacement last today?+

Modern prostheses with advanced tribological materials typically exceed 20–25 years. Longevity depends on age, weight, activity level and bone quality.

  • Is the mini-invasive technique suitable for everyone?+

No. It is ideal for patients with favourable anatomy and good bone quality. In complex cases or revisions a traditional approach is safer and more controlled.

  • What are the average recovery times?+

Assisted walking within 24–48 hours, household independence in 2–3 weeks, full recovery in 2–3 months. Light sports after 4–6 months.

  • What to bring to the pre-op visit?+

Recent X-rays, MRI or CT scans if available, up-to-date blood tests, list of current medications and reports of any previous surgeries.
