A major initiative by Prof. Fernando Colao: the Scaglietti–Dini Scientific Award for Orthopaedic Surgery, established in collaboration with the Municipality of Pietrasanta, is reserved for graduates in medicine and surgery who have oriented their professional training towards the orthopaedic-surgical branch or clinical orthopaedics. The prize consists of €1,500 and the opportunity for a 300-hour practical course in operating theatres in orthopaedic clinics and hospitals, with access to clinical practice. The Award is dedicated to the memory of Professors Oscar Scaglietti and Piero Dini, distinguished university professors of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Florence.
